Single Mom with Metastatic Breast Cancer-UPDATE

*UPDATE 5/12/20

It is with a heavy heart to report that Tara passed away peacefully this morning with her son and mother by her side.  Through it all she fought with poise and dignity and never lost faith and hope.  Tara leaves behind her mother and family, and most importantly her pride and joy, JD, who was the center of her world. We know she appreciated all of the support given and was able to find comfort in knowing that it will go a long way in helping JD.

-------------------
In 2017 Tara was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. Having been originally diagnosed  in 2015 with Breast Cancer Stage 3b and undergoing a mastectomy, radiation, and chemo, Tara knew the fight she would have to endure.  She underwent a hysterectomy and has been through a plethora of chemo treatments. Currently, Tara is on what she has been told will be her last chemotherapy drug. The cancer has spread to her bones, liver, and throughout her lower abdomen. She is suffering not only with the cancer but also the side effects of the chemo.  She is receiving frequent blood transfusions and is often very tired and unable to work.  Not only is Tara tired, but her immune system is very weak making her susceptible to illnesses.  She urgently needs to apply for disability, however, she would lose 40% of her paycheck.

Tara is a single mom to her one and only......JD.  She has always pushed herself to stay active and attends everything that JD is involved in. JD is a junior honor student of Martinsburg High School. He is involved in band, Good Times show choir, the golf team, and many other school activities. He is also involved in his youth group at their church.  He is a dedicated and caring son, often thinking of his mom's needs above his own.  Unfortunately,  JD lost his father last year and recently lost his grandmother. Throughout  all of the loss in his life, he stays optimistic and continues to have faith the Lord will provide for them.

Please consider a financial donation that will be used to supplement Tara's income so she can take disability while continuing her fight. This money will make it possible for Tara to continue to pay her bills and care for her son.
