Baby Ethan and His loving parents

It is hard for me to sit here and write this because there is so much to say yet no words seem good enough to honor his soul on the level I think it deserves... My dear sweet Ethan, may the sun shine warm upon your face...and may God hold you in the palm of His hand. Our sweet baby Ethan found his wings today and is an angel embraced in God's loving care. We have no answers to the how or why and are struggling to understand the tragic loss of our beautiful son, grandson, brother, and nephew. He came into this world early and left it way too soon as well. He brought such unbelievable joy into our lives and takes a piece of our hearts with him, only to be returned when we meet again. We love you Ethan! I know your Opa was waiting for you with open arms.. Please hold our family close to your hearts as we mourn the loss of our beautiful baby."
My very sweet and extremely brave nephew, Ethan came into the world on August 12, 2015. What started out as an amazing adventure shortly turned into any parents nightmare. Just hours after he was born, he had to be rushed to Oakland Children's Hospital and within 3 days endured open heart surgery. For the past 5 weeks, it appeared that Ethan was doing better. Yes, there were struggles, ups and downs. But Ethan was always so brave and valiant smiling and watching his parents so lovingly. Sadly, his little heart was having a hard time. Chris and Imelda made the VERY brave choice to try and give Ethan a chance at life and opted to allow another surgery. On September 21, 2015, Ethan went into surgery. The doctors had reported back that he had done very well. Actually better than the first surgery! We were hopeful.. At 12:40 am on the 22nd, Ethan's little heart just couldn’t take anymore. In the 5 weeks and 5 days that he was on this planet? He touched so many lives in an amazing and positive way. He was quite the little fighter! I will miss his sweet cheeks and beautiful eyes and the love he showed his parents when they were in the room talking and singing to him. They were by his side every single day.
We are without words for the loss of our Brothers and sister in laws beautiful son, Ethan. This situation has rattled everyone who has ever met Chris or Imelda. None of us can understand the depth of their pain or the measure of their love for their sweet boy. And while we will all share tears and lend an ear, the financial burden of this unexpected loss should be the last thing on their minds. The goal of this campaign is to help alleviate some of the financial stress Chris and Imelda are dealing with, so that they may focus on loving their children and each other as they try to work through this difficult time. Thank you for taking the time to read this and giving whatever you can. Proceeds from this campaign will be used for funeral expenses and medical expenses that continue to come in on a daily basis. Any amount, big or small is genuinely appreciated. NO ONE should EVER have to go through this. Please send prayers to the family and friends of Chris and Imelda Ellenberger as we all try to overcome this difficult moment in time and try find some peace and closure. So much love to you all.
