Kenya Trip!

As many of you know, I graduated from Vanguard University in May of this year. Following the jubilee of the graduation ceremony and subsequent months since then, I began praying and asking God where He wants me in this next season of life. While I feel blessed to be working at a local coffee shop--maybe the cutest coffee shop in all of Orange County (*shameless plus for The Lost Bean)--and am grappling a dream of going back to school to receive a Master's Degree, I think there is something much more pressing upon my heart: Kenya.
What I desire more than anything is the opportunity to serve God in Kenya, and follow on in the footsteps of my dad and Skyler. Upon arriving home--and really, ever since then--both Skyler and my father have been brimming with inspirational stories of how God moved in extraordinary ways in that third world nation. I desire to chase these far-away tales, and figure out what kind of experience Kenya holds for me. All of this being said, my post-grad occupation became praying over and researching opportunities to fulfill this desire. Lo and behold and two months later, God has answered my prayer and blessed me with the opportunity to join a small team that will be going overseas to Kenya at the start of 2016! It's almost impossible for me to contain my excitement (there may have been some loud shouting, jumping, and even tear when I found out…)! The trip/team leave for Kenya in January, and will be providing much needed medical clinics to the destitute and neglected people of rural Kitale. During the trip we will also be visiting various orphanages, schools, and hospitals to provide aid and vital resources to our fellow man. It is through all of these modes of charity and community that we hope to spread/show the love of Jesus to our precious friends.
In short, I am incredibly excited and grateful for this opportunity to be used by God. I will be taking on new roles, interacting with His beautiful children in new ways, and owning new responsibilities than ever before. I will not only have the opportunity to give back to a global community, but will also be forced to grow in ways I never thought possible in a place that is entirely removed from my comfort zone. I would love to ask for your support in this venture in any form that you can afford! Prayer for my preparation, prayer for the team's safe travel and time in Kenya, and prayer for our new friends and relationships would be greatly appreciated! God bless!
