A Scientist in the Making
(Note, donations are in dollars / Nota, las donaciones son en dólares)
Hi! My name is Federico Sanchez. I'm from the city of Puerto Vallarta in Mexico and I just graduated high school. I recently received the amazing news that I was accepted Early Decision to the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, to pursue a double major in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics.
It has always been a dream of mine to be a scientist and researcher, and my greatest desire is to one day unveil cures and develop treatments for terrible genetic diseases that pain and hinder the lives of many people all around the world. I wish to dedicate my life to helping at least some of these people to find hope. I know that to be able to achieve this I'll have to work hard and get lots of preparation by studying, which is why the opportunity to go to college in the United States is incredibly exciting to me. So far I've been greatly blessed with attending a marvelous high school, Harkness Institute, which set me on many journeys, including a pre-college summer program in Michigan, a leadership bootcamp in Colombia, and going alongside my best friend to represent our home state at the Mexican National Physics Olympiad.
Today a challenge arises in this educational path. Despite receiving a very generous financial aid package from the University of Rochester, the costs not covered by it still remain high for my family. I don't want this hurdle to stop me from fulfilling the purpose that God has laid out for my life, as much as I don't want my education's costs to be a great burden for my parents.
Because of this I'm calling out for help. I will be very thankful to anyone who has it in their hearts to help me achieve my dream, whether it be by donating or sharing this; either is immensely appreciated. I have faith that God will make a way for this to happen, as He always has held me in His hands.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you have a wonderful day, and may God bless you!
