Amanda Schmidt Memorial Fund

Hi… my name is Breanna Sand, younger sister of Amanda Schmidt.

Amanda Schmidt went missing on August 15th 2021. We found her vehicle at Inspiration Peak in Ottertail County where her husband proposed to her years before. We had fear that she was out in the woods with intent of suicide. Her body was found on August 16th around 1pm by law enforcement after they finally came to help. Law enforcement REFUSED to help due to her possibly having a firearm. They stated it was a liability issue and would not help us until after 24 hours when she was considered “missing.” When authorities found her she was deceased- VERY TRAGIC suicide.

Amanda was my sister, my best friend, my rock, but she left behind her babies Isaac, 11 years old, and Aubrey, who will be 9 on Friday August 20th. As well as her husband, Gordon, who she had been with for 16 years.

I ask for your donations to help with her funeral, her memorial, help with children getting into therapy and doing whatever we can to allow them to grieve and heal. My family is suffering significantly and it is going to be EXTREMELY difficult for our family to go through this process. Any and everything helps us during these tragic and traumatic times.
