I was told to shut down my business on March 17 by the state and board of Costmertology due to COVID-19. We shut down and we had been giving false news that we will get unemployment or PPP loan or SBA loan. All that is not true. As a small immigrant business with 1-2 employees you have been setup to die. Your families are left for starvation, because you wouldn’t qualify for no help. I have been in this country for 18 years, I am a tax paying citizen and I have never asked for food or cash from the state. I have about 5 immigrant women that are all self employed who are in the same boat. we are all getting rejection letters from banks and unemployment office or better still SBA the GAINT who as been told would save us. We have been duped and rape by our state and government. COVID 19 is killing people all over the world as well as our small businesses and our mental state of mind . Lay in my bed with insomnia, looking for information that help us survive this moments . No one to ask how we will get help . Should we violate the law by risking our lives , so we can protect our home from starvation and livelihood. Someone please help us. I received another rejection letter from my bank this morning ( Sorry the CARES ACT loan as been DEPLETED.) What businesses did it go to, who determined who needs help and who don’t? Most immigrant businesses started by self funding and grow with the help of our communities. If you take away the help by shutting us down , please help us with a way to keep our livelihood open, because we are a big part of our communities.
