Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read our story.
Logan was born prematurely at 28 weeks weighing 2 pounds 9 ounces. On day #3 of life, Logan developed a grade 4 brain bleed on his left side, and a grade 2 bleed on the right. 2.5 weeks later, he was additionally diagnosed with hydrocephalus. Within 24 hours, we were transferred to another hospital 3.5 hours and 150 miles away from home. Logan is undergoing brain surgery to have a shunt put in, followed by additional procedures throughout his life to maintain the function of his device.
Logan has 2 big brothers at home, ages 8 and 5. Our 5 year old is also a prior premature NICU baby diagnosed with CMV and additionally has his own medical needs.
We are a struggling single income household at this time, with bills starting to pile and credit cards maxing out, and being so incredibly far from home, things are getting ever harder.
We are asking for help for our family as we navigate through this unknown chapter and trying medical journey. The 300 mile drive round trip to/from the hospital is enough to worry about these days in its own, on top of adding food and lodging to the mix, day to day necessities, in addition to child care for our other boys when we have to be away.
Any money raised will go directly to Logan's medical bills and needs, gas for transportation to/from the hospital and future doctors appointments, in addition to food and lodging when having to be away.
Please, share Logan's story with the world. It takes a village, and we need you to be apart of ours.
Thank you from Logan and his family
