We never imagined we’d be here, writing something like this.

We have been shaken by the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Jessy Gonzalez. Who passed away on April 16, 2026 surrounded by his family and friends.

A beautiful son, grandson, brother friend, and cat dad. Precious to so many. He passed far too young, and the pain of that reality is something we are still trying to process.

A large part of what makes this process difficult is knowing that his story is not unique. Too many people are slipping through the cracks of a healthcare system that often feels out of reach, too expensive, or too slow to respond. His passing is a devastating reminder of how critical it is to listen to our bodies, seek care early, and to push for answers and community even when it’s hard.

He was the kind of person who's presence grounded those around him. Who could make you smile from the heart outward. And so fiercely loyal. Those of you who had the privilege of knowing Jessy, and there were many of you, know that he was one of a kind. A beacon of light and radiant and beautiful soul who was taken from this world too early and too suddenly.

Now, his family is left not only with grief, but with the unexpected financial burden that comes with losing someone so suddenly. We’re asking for help to ease that weight so they can focus on healing instead of worrying about expenses.

If you knew Jessy, we hope you can help us gather the resources neccessary to give him the celebration of life as beautiful as you all knew his heart was. For those of you who didn't know him, but are feeling called to donate, please know that the love that surrounded him was a reflection of the wonderful person he was.
