My name is Natasha and I am raising funds for my friend Jackie. Jackie is a pillar of the community here in Inuvik. Many of you have know her for her roles at The Town of Inuvik, Inuvik Community Events Society, Muskrat Jamboree, Fiddle & Flow and many many more volunteer spaces in our town.

Jackie gives her time, her heart, and her all to not only Inuvik but to the larger community of the Northwest Territories. It is time for us, the community to Rally for Jackie.

"So, I kept saying I would never make this post publicly, but here I am humbly before you.

As some of you may know I'm about to leave Inuvik to Edmonton for a first of several major surgeries over the next few months.

The journey thus far has been challenging to say the least, but I'm tough and determined (some may say stubborn ) but I am ready to beat all this & put it behind me so I can get back to living this crazy, but blessed to have, life of mine.

Today I'm reaching out to friends, family & community to humbly provide a way / link to which you may choose to financially support this journey -- in however small way you can -- No Pressure! Your thoughts & prayers are also perfectly acceptable and appreciated. Anything helps.

Where's the Money Going?

- I have an existing Air Ambulance Bill of over $7000 from an emergency medevac

- I have an existing & growing balance with BDHSSA of over $5000 in co-pay fees due to the extensive travel I've done the last year for CT, MRI, & Diagnostic appointments down South

- I am responsible for covering all Accommodation, Co-pay on Flights, Taxis, & Meals up front while on Medical Travel. There is possibility for reimbursement but only for a very small percentage. This time around I have to be in Edmonton at least 2 weeks. Next surgery I will likely need to be there for 3 or 4.

- I now have required (and will have more after surgeries) lifelong supplements, prescription meds & pain meds again requiring up front payment

I am fortunate to receive some Employer & NWT Health Care benefits, however they do not cover many of the items noted above.

I actually really hate making this post, but if I weren't struggling to meet all my bills plus these additional expenses, I wouldn't be asking.
