Hello Friends, I'm starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend who probably wouldn’t do this on her own…
Her name is Alita Rey. She’s a hardworking single mother and business owner. She works for everything she has and rarely takes a handout or asks for help from anyone. She’s known for doing projects for free in the Reno community and constantly giving the shirt off her back for others. Trying to do her best for her daughter, and putting everyone else first.
She’s been suffering with an infected upper jaw since April 2024. The infected area left her with no option other than to get a front tooth extracted even though there was nothing wrong with the tooth as much as the bone just let go.
After several months of appointments and procedures, it led to the hardest procedure yet, bone grafting surgery on September 25th. She went under for the procedure and now has 4 months of healing before the next surgery.
She’s not doing well from this and has been throwing up from the fever, swelling, and severe pain.
Over the next several weeks, she shouldn’t do much but heal, and feels like she can't afford any more days off. There are no sick days for the self-employed.
With a mouth full of stitches, it’s incredibly hard for her to eat anything solid, and she’s losing weight. She’s also allergic to painkillers, and was given nothing for pain management, and there is a lot of pain.
She isn’t able to wear an aesthetic flipper tooth for some time to ensure the grafting takes to the bones, and walking around toothless is a distinct obstacle for a self employed business owner working in a social environment…
The bills for this have been incredibly high as it’s all out of pocket with no dental insurance, totaling close to $11,000 currently, which is understandably overwhelming.
Her monthly needs are not included in that either, which run $3,500 a month at the minimum. Utilities, rent, and food are vital to be paid for herself and family, to sustain. In this moment she’s feeling like she’s out of options. She needs our help and the gift of time to heal.
We appreciate any help to be able to create a stress-free healing zone for Alita. Her appreciation and love for you all is immense.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and bless you for any help we receive. Prayer and food trains are also extremely appreciated as I know this is a rough time for us all in the world.
Here are the gruesome pictures of the surgery she had to endure. Please help her to be able to heal with a small donation!
