I need a little help.

I found out yesterday that I have thyroid cancer. Good news, we caught it super early.

I've already paid the surgeon $1K for her part. But then the hospital called me. It will be $11,000 just for the hospital facilities. This does not cover the radiologist, the anesthesiologist or any cancer treatment after the removal. I've contacted Health and Human Services and it will be at least 30 days before I get a response.

Let me tell you why I'm in this fix from the beginning.

My previous job was as an Activity Director for Encore Paradise Park. I had informed my manager that it would be my last season because I needed a full-time job with benefits.

The position at Encore Sunshine RV opened up when their whole activities department walked out. So, my manager told the Boss Boss what I was looking for. He offered me a full-time position, year-round with benefits and a raise if I agreed to move from Paradise Park to Sunshine RV. I happily accepted and moved, but my position was never updated in the system.

After the season was over and the Boss Boss's ass was saved, he told me that my position was being terminated by corporate because they could not justify the position year-round.

But he told me not to worry because he was creating a position for me. Full-time, year-round with benefits and another raise. He told me to wait 10 days, and it would be a go.

He never called me again. I kept in contact with my Sunshine manager for 2 months. Both of us were being reassured by the Boss Boss that he was working on it.

I was told last week that it was a no-go again. But I was offered part-time, seasonal without benefits. I told him to shove it and applied for unemployment. It will be over a month before I see a dime. After 2 months waiting for a non existent job, I'm $2K in debt.

To the point.

As part of my job, I brought in a mobile imaging unit for the residents to get their insides checked out (organs, blood flow, etc.). Because I was able to get so many people signed up in 2 different parks, I was given a free exam.
They noticed a nodule on both glands. I went to an actual radiologist and after testing and retesting, they want to remove both glands. Especially because my dad had his removed for medullary cancer, which can be genetic and one of the fastest growing cancers.

I feel weird asking for money. But I'm slim on choices. Anything helps. Thanks for reading.
