Happy New Year Dear Friends Of Mike, January 17, 2022 - FUNDRAISING UPDATE!!
Who says miracles can’t happen? We are thrilled to announce that Mike will be released from the hospital this week!! The original prognosis of “a lengthy hospital recovery” is no more. Thanks to great assists, great medical care, and great people, Mike surprised everyone - including his doctors who were actually stunned at the progress of his healing. Most of you will know he is back online, back on the phone, and getting back to his usual self! The whole story has indeed been, in Mike’s own words as you’ll read below “an ordeal”. And do check out our newly posted photo of Mike doing his best to make a hat from his pillow!
We have a very interesting situation - Mike has done so well, and is leaving the hospital so much earlier than expected that there is some need to raise a little more money to help ensure a proper transition from the hospital over to where he’ll be staying to complete his recovery. The Fundraiser is therefore announcing it would like to raise an additional $1,000.00 to help ensure Mike has all the essentials he’ll need - specialized clothing items, care items, certain items of warmer clothes, and a small contingency for the unexpected medical, and daily-tasks-of-living expenses which are sure to crop up as the final leg of his healing starts outside the hospital. Our original goal was $2300 - which we surpassed by $800 thanks to your generosity - our new goal is $4200.
We asked Mike to write a few words to you, and here is what he had to say:
“I am very grateful to all the people who went out of their way to help me survive this ordeal so far - I never expected to get into a situation like this but also would have close to zero chance getting out of it on my own . . . Wish everyone a prosperous year & I hope to catch up with the productive world very soon . . .”

Hello Dear Friends Of Mike Barth,
As you may know, Mike has been admitted to St. Josephs hospital ICU (Intensive Care Unit) where he is fighting very hard (and very well!!) for his health. We are there with him each day, bringing messages from his many friends and with his volunteer minister assisting him.
We have a plan in place for when Mike is discharged from the hospital - but right now, Mike needs our help to we raise about $2300 which will cover the immediate bills and expenses which will come due by the end of this month - November 2021.
