We are all saddened by the unexpected passing of Lydia Manalo. She left this earth on the night of February 1st, 2021. She was greeted in Heaven by her husband, Santiago Manalo, who passed 9 years prior. Their legacy includes 4 children (Soliman, Leilani, Anthony, and Gideon) and 11 grandchildren (Alex, Francesca, Matt, Winona, Giancarlo, Logan, Lorenzo, Preston, Wesley, Isabella, and Riley).
Lydia spent her time half of the year in the Philippines and the other half in North America where her children had spread out in several different states. She enjoyed traveling to visit them and touring other countries. One of her passions included sewing, where she was particularly skilled at fixing cultural dresses for the Filipino-American Association of Pittsburgh. During the pandemic, she gave back to the community by crafting face masks. A devoted Catholic, Lydia attended mass regularly and prayed the rosary nightly. She liked to connect with her friends through Facebook Messenger. Her closest friends and loved ones remember her cheerful personality and love for life.
Our family is requesting memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to cover medical expenses incurred during her hospitalization. We are grateful for the overwhelming support and kind words from friends and family, near and far.
Thank you, and God Bless.
