In Memory of Christine

Donation protected
On February 17, 2018, we received devastating news that our good friend and colleague Christine (Scholten) MacDonald passed away as result of a sudden brain aneurysm. She left behind her husband Ian and 3 beautiful children, Abby(17), Jordan(15) & Seth(13), as well as a large close knit extended family.

It is hard to put into words the void that has been left by the sudden loss of our dear friend and colleague Christine, who meant so much, to so many people. She had deep empathy for people that she wore on her sleeve, a dedication to helping others that was admirable, and was a loyal friend with witty and sarcastic humour who would listen & laugh with you. Her smile and laughter could warm the coldest of rooms.

Most of all, she had a ferocious love for her family(the Scholtens & MacDonalds)-anyone who knew her, knew her family was her most prized possession. Her face lit up when talking about her husband Ian, & kids Abby, Jordan & Seth.

Christine was one of those people that we should all strive to be. She was genuine, kind, funny, and cared very deeply for others.

So many things to so many but above all- a great listener and advocate for all.

Christine’s three children are involved in extra curricular activities and her oldest, Abby, will be going to post secondary in September. One of the main objectives of this fund is to ensure they can grieve the loss of their mother with minimal interruptions to their daily routine. Christine has made a memorable impact in the lives of so many. Not only in her work but, also through volunteering in her home and work community. As Christine lived her life helping others, it is now her family that needs your help. This is an opportunity for you to continue in her spirit.

We have set up this page in the hopes of helping them get through the difficult times ahead.

A quote we took from Christine’s desk sums up how she lived everyday-
“If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”
