In 2012, Silverton School middle school students in Silverton, Colorado embarked on a study of Africa. They studied wildlife, culture and the history of colonialism in different African countries. They focused on Rwanda because of its terribly difficult past but surprisingly bright future. To make their study even more authentic they partnered with a school in Rwanda and sponsored a visit for 2 Rwandan students and a Rwandan teacher for 6 weeks! Peter, Esther, and Jean Bosco attended Silverton School, lived with Silverton families and forever changed the lives of Silverton residents and the paths of their own lives as well.
This year we hope to bring 2 new students and another teacher to our school and community. We are asking for your help to make it happen! Your donations go toward travel expenses to and from the United States, food and lodging while in the United States, and field work costs so that Silverton and Rwandan students can share powerful learning experiences.
