Miles Harrison goes to Washington

My son Miles is a 5th grader at Overland Elementary School in West Los Angeles. He has excelled in his studies and has been chosen as one of the top 10-5th graders in his entire school to attend the Jr. Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. and he'll get to visit The White House next summer.

When he read his official invitation, he was utterly speechless. I have never seen this out of my son before. Utterly speechless. I have been explaining to him the importance of good school work and college admittance so he had been working hard. This proved to him that persistance and dilligence pay off big!!!
Needless to say, I will do everything I can to make sure that he can attend the conference. He will be doing his own fund raising, but mom is here to help as well.
While his trip is slated for next summer, the deposit ($1,000), which is due next month and installments, which begin one month later, are $500 each for the next 3 months for a total of $2,500.
To start my son off on the right track as far as rewards in education for working hard means everything. We loose so many children because there isn't enough dedication from us adults. I'm here to make sure my boy is on the right path and that starts with a good education.
We both will be eternally grateful to all who assist us in making this trip a dream come true.
