International Student fooled
My friend is an international student at the University of South Florida, majoring in mechanical engineering. He is from a small city in Brazil called "Cachoeira de Minas". He always dreamed of coming to the US and, with the financial help of many relatives and friends, he managed to make it.
In order to stay in the country, Luiz fought to get a job on campus and pay his bills without much help. During the process of hiring, he needed to get a Social Security Number to start working. He did. After a year of hard work and managing to stay on top of his grades (GPA 4.0) along with the 20 hours/per week of work, everything seemed to be working well.
A week before the end of another successful semester in engineering, Luiz received a call saying that his so important Social Security Number had been suspended. Desperate, he followed all the instructions given to him by phone.
They asked him to transfer all his money from his bank accounts to gift cards in order to protect his money from any transaction made on his behalf. Further, it was asked of him to send the gift cards with his money to them so they could verify his identity and prevent any major loss. After 2 days of agony and preoccupation, he realized all had been a scam and he fell right into it.
Luiz took all his $1486.5 dollars from his accounts, money that was being saved to pay next semester's tuition, and sent it to the criminals.
I created this go-fund-me because I know how much he fought to get where he is today and how much he needs that money.
Please help Luiz Gabriel!
Thank you!
