Help Families in Canlaon City Recover from Typhoon Tino
Hi, I’m Kitana. I live in Townsville however born in the Philippines. I’m raising funds for Canlaon City in the Philippines, a community that was hit really hard by Typhoon Tino in early November.
A close friend of mine here in Townsville is originally from Canlaon, and through her I’ve seen just how badly people have been affected. Homes were destroyed, roads washed out, and the water system is still barely working — many families are relying on donated water just to get by. Farmers also lost most of their crops, leaving families without food or income. This is why I want to help.
Right now, people are struggling with the basics:
Clean water
Food
Clothing
Hygiene supplies
Safe temporary shelter
I’m raising money to put together care packages with these essentials for the families who need them most.
Where the money goes:
All funds will go to a trusted local contact in Canlaon who is distributing aid fairly across the community, Trina Tan Mendoza.
Trina and her team:
Delivers food, water, hygiene kits, and clothing
Prioritises families who lost homes or livelihoods
Posts updates in forms of transparency reports on Facebook showing exactly how donations are being used. I know the money is going straight to the people who need it with no delays.
Why it matters:
Canlaon City is full of hardworking families who have lost so much. Many are grieving, displaced, and just trying to survive day-to-day. Even a small donation can help get clean water, food, or clothes into the hands of someone who desperately needs it.
How you can help:
Anything you can give makes a difference, and sharing this fundraiser helps reach more people who want to help.
Thank you so much for your support. Every bit of help counts and will go straight to families who really need it right now.
With gratitude,
Kitana
