My name is Linda Chambers and I have worked with Shanna Dickerson at South Mecklenburg High School for four years now. This morning, the Dickerson family woke up to their home engulfed in fire. Thankfully, the family--her husband Lyn, son Brandon (14), and their two dogs made it out safely. Their daughter Brenna was away at college. Their home has been declared a total loss and they made it out only with the clothes they had on this morning. Since then they have been and will be able to go into what is left, with help, to salvage whatever they possibly can.
Shanna has worked at South Mecklenburg High School for over 18 years. We know her as a kind, loving, family-focused person. She has helped so many people--students, colleagues, friends, family, and complete strangers. I am asking for any financial help possible to assist the Dickerson family as they rebuild their life. Insurance simply does not cover loss of basic necessities (food, clothing, toiletries, etc), which is what I have created this fund for.
The family will be beyond thankful and appreciative as they struggle to come to grips with this terrible loss of their family home, tangible memories and the life they built there. Any help, prayers, and support are greatly appreciated.
