Children for Christ Outreach Ministries (CCOMU) was started in 2006 as a community based organization working with the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in the district of Kaliro. Pastor Simon Peter and his co-workers started working in Kaliro, where he found many orphaned children. Kaliro has been heavily affected by HIV/AIDs epidemic and therefore, these children are not attending school because of the poverty level of their guardians.
Some of these children lost both of their parents and are living with elderly people who are unable to meet their needs. Food, clothing, medication, and education are the major issues these children face. Most of the people within this community are illiterate. In order to help the children become responsible citizens and self reliant in the future, there is a need for a school.
It’s only through education that we can give the children in this community a future. Because illiteracy and poverty are the major challenges here, the school will benefit the community as a whole. A quarter of the children in Kaliro are orphaned, and the rest of the children live in complete poverty. Our hope is that when the school is constructed, about 900 children will attend. Education is very important in the life of a Ugandan Child. Together we can make a change in the lives of these children.
100% OF ALL DONATIONS GO DIRECTLY TOWARDS THE SCHOOL.
