Update: I just wanted to give an update on Manny’s situation. He is currently in hospice care. It can be hours or days till Manny leaves this world to a better place. Keep praying for him and we appreciate all the love and support you’ve given Manny.

Manny Cassanello....

When we think of Manny, we think of strength, love and family. He was always the person that we’d look to for encouragement. Manny never wanted to see any of us down or feeling bad about ourselves. We had an amazing connection, he was part of the family glue. Although Manny was loved by his family and friends, there were parts of his life where he might’ve felt a void. Far from perfect, he focused on working hard. Unfortunately he did not think that his days would be counted.

In mid July, 2020, we got a call from the  hospital that he’d had a stroke, and needed an emergency surgery.  Manny remained in a coma throughout the summer in a rehabilitation center and we’d get to see him on facetime weekly. The doctors gave us different prognoses and we kept praying that he’d get better, sadly this never happened. He was diagnosed with Covid in February 2021 and this was what ultimately knocked him down. While he did not get sick because of Covid, it set him back in so many ways. Manny was put on a ventilator and his health severly deteriorated.

The doctors informed us that while his body was physically here, Manny was not. Manny was suffering and with guidance from his medical team, he was removed from the vent. It could be hours, it could be days that manny will transition to heaven.

Our amazing and loving Manny hadn’t prepared financially for his final days and we would like to be able to provide a funeral where his family and friends can gather and say their final goodbyes. It may seem practical to save for this day but no one in their late 40s is thinking that their time will come - not in this way at least. Manny was vibrant and full of life and our hearts broke when he was hospitalized last July.

We know he was loved by many and we hope to bring all his loved ones together one last time to celebrate his life and send him off with love and joy, as that is what he would have wanted. We are asking you to help us pull together for his final send off. No matter the amount, it will be greatly appreciated and will help for his final send off.
