Rv-camper for failed kidney transplant recipient

Donation protected

For 15 years my mom Sayra has suffered from kidney disease. Through her many painful medical experiences she has remained very optimistic, never complaining about the frustrating diagnosis she received when she was only 35 that came due to the repeated physical abuse she sustained throughout her childhood. Finally, my family and I were told in early January that she was approved for the kidney transplant list! By early February she was told by her team that her husband Brian could be tested to see if he was a match. After a couple of months of testing we were all ECSTATIC to find out he was! Not only was he a perfect match, his kidney function was better than average which was very encouraging! So on May 10, 2021 my mom went in for surgery and on May 11th our lives changed very suddenly. We were told that a clot had developed in the donor kidney she received from Brian and that she needed emergency surgery. A whirlwind of unfortunate events happened and she landed in the ICU for 3 weeks, 2 of those weeks on a breathing machine. By the end of her hospital stay she was told the new kidney sustained so much damage from the clot that the function looked very poor. In the months that have followed we have all remained hopeful that the new kidney would have some use in her but in late July she was given the devastating news that the new kidney had failed and is not functioning at all. She is back on dialysis with a surgery looming ahead to take out the donor kidney, at which time she will be placed on the CA transplant list (a wait of up to 10 years). Mom is much weaker than she was before but her positive spirit has not dimmed amidst her struggles. Her hopes have shifted a bit, nowadays she talks about wishing she could see the Redwood forest and the Grand Canyon. Due to her daily dialysis she has not traveled in many years. If she were to travel now she would need some kind of rv/camper with an electrical hookup for her machine. She says in a few years when the medical bills hopefully get paid off she wants to get a camper so they can see these places she has always wanted to visit. Brian even takes her to rv dealerships on occasion just to see her smile as she imagines making her dreams of the redwoods a reality one day. I don’t know what the future holds for her in terms of her health, if I think about it too long it terrifies me. But what I do know is I would love to make her wish of an rv come true sooner rather than later! :) So I ask my dear friends, and those who I may not know, will you please help us keep giving her reasons to smile? :) Whatever donations come in, all proceeds will go to moms rv. And whether you are able to donate or not, if you could please send up a little prayer on her behalf. She could use as many as we can give her. All our love and many many many thanks,
Brian, Sayra’s 7 children, her 4 in-laws, and her 9 grandchildren
