RVA COVID19 Rent Assistance Fundraiser #RentRelief
I'm a Property Manager in Richmond, VA my peers and I set a goal to raise money for Families living in the
17,466 Affordable Apartment Homes with 8,541 Low Income Renters receiving assistance. These are
Families living paycheck to paycheck with the average rent of $1000 and less.
Like everyone else Covid-19 layoffs DIRECTLY impacted these families with loss of income, leaving them
unable to pay Rent at no fault of their own. The CARES ACT provides 120 days eviction relief for tenants in federally-backed housing. IMPORTANT to KNOW to date this moratorium does NOT relieve theses families of their obligation to pay Rent.
The best help we can give is secure their Apartment Homes with Rent Payment Assistance. We will work
directly with Landlords to ensure Payments are applied directly to rent with no additional fees charged to
the Families.
Get involved, its going to take everyone working collectively on recovery from Covid-19. Lets beat the
impact this will have our Communities. Relief is for April 1, 2020 Rent forward past due balances prior to April 1, 2020 are before Covid19 layoffs and do not qualify for this rent relief fundraiser.
