Hi, my name is Taylor and I'm raising money to help my mom pay her bills and also to have some money for everyday items. She is in need of money to help pay for utilities (Gas, Electric, Trash, Etc.) Car Insurance, Phone bill, internet/cable, groceries and on top of all those monthly bills she has property taxes coming up which alone will cost her $2K that she does not have. My mom can not work due to many health issues as of right now unfortunately and I alone have tried to help pay for her bills, gas for her car, and groceries on top of my own bills but It simply isn't enough.
In 2010 my mom suffered a heart attack at the age of 44 and because of family health history on my grandmas side (My grandma, my great aunt, and my great grandfather all suffer(ed) heart disease) at 44 she had to have open heart surgery and received a 6 way bypass. Between 2010 and now she has had multiple stents put in those arteries since then, let me assure you my mom is no lazy slob either, she has always made her health #1 and has always taken care of her body by eating right and exercising. She used to go to the gym and she walks around our neighborhood almost everyday.
In 2017 she also had to have back surgery due to a fall that caused a part of her vertebrae to chip off and constantly hit the nerves causing severe pain her. For almost a year a she was getting epidurals shot into her back to help her but it eventually wouldn't make the pain go away. Thanks to the surgery she now has some screws and bolts that helped her. After rehab and taking time off work to heal she wat back to work and fine. She just can't do certain tasks like raking or lift anything too heavy.
October 17th, 2021 she woke up and I had noticed she was talking sort of funny and I asked her to look me and I could tell something was wrong because she talked the side of her face wouldn't move. So I immediately took her into the emergency room and what I was afraid of actually happened, she had suffered a stroke. I was by her side the entire time she was there and it seems like there was a bigger problem that was going on that we didn't know. We found out that she had a blood clot in her brain that could actually kill her if she were to have another stroke.
After a week of being in the hospital she was finally discharged and we were given the proper recommendations for the next steps. Due to her stroke she had to take work off and because I worked during the day she would have no one home to take care of her. So she unfortunately went and stayed with my sister out in Arizona for a total of 7 months while I stayed here in Indiana and worked and took care of the house. During this time away she was getting paid by the government but that officially ended in December of last year. Sadly her work let her go after being away for so long and she has gone through all the money she had saved up through the years. She came home finally but her being able to work ever again was out of the question, not only myself but others can see she physically and mentally can't handle working.
For those that know my mom she is a strong, hardworking, and one the most kind hearted people you will ever meet. For those of you who truly know her also knows that she can be stubborn and hates asking for help. This is why I reaching out and asking for everyone to help me, help my mom. She has been through so much in her life and has been dealt the unlucky hand of cards for so many years because of genetics. Unfortunately she was denied disability but we are fighting to get it for her with a lawyer, but her case hasn't gone to court yet. I would do anything for my mom, just like she has proven so many times over and over again that she would do anything for me. I have been working extra hours and cutting back on so many things just so I can give her the money she needs, but again it's not enough. Sadly family that preaches about being there for family has turned their backs on us and refuse to help unless she were to answer their demands but she refuses to do so which she has every right. Her 58th birthday is coming up next month and I don't want her to have to worry about money or anything else for awhile.
This is very important to me and for my mom, she doesn't know I am doing this for her because she would make a fuss about it. I know deep down she would be eternally grateful for any help she can get. I love her so much and to end this story I will leave a quote from Denzel Washington about sons and mothers. Thank you and God bless.
