**Update:** Olga’s situation has become worse than ever. She was terminated from her job, leaving her and her children without medical insurance. She needs our help now, more than ever. If you could please donate, and share this GoFundMe, it would be greatly appreciated. ***

We all hope, pray, cross our fingers etc. that life will go easy on us...that our hardships and challenges will stay at a minimum. The thing is, life is unpredictable. We only have so much control of things. So when life changes, difficult times come, we brace ourselves, try to gather our strength and pull our loved ones close. But sometimes that isn't enough. Sometimes we need to call out for the help of others and expand our tribe.

This is now the case for my friend Olga and her 2 children. Olga, Nathan and Matthew have already had their share of challenges and loss with Olga being a single mother suffering from an autoimmune condition and the children’s father being diagnosed with Schizophrenia in 2020. Due to his refusal to seek treatment, the father of her children has been homeless for over 2 years and not been a source of assistance and left Olga with over $60,000 in debt.

Shortly after, Olga was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition that would have her in and out of the hospital fighting for her life until her condition deteriorated to the point where she was unable to work for 10 months.

As with such conditions where symptoms often require hospitalizations and frequent doctors’ visits and being out of work, Olga has inquired a significant amount of debt totaling over $27,000 in medical bills but was determined to recuperate to the point where she could go back to work and continue to provide for her 2 small children. However, all her efforts would come to halt when her ex-husband and father of her children would show up to try to kill them and threatened not only them and their home, but also her place of work and homes of her family and loved ones.

Fortunately, after a standoff with police, her husband was arrested and is currently awaiting trial however the damage that this event caused has set Olga back even further in debt. With her family living 300 miles away and having to use unpaid time off per company policy in order to deal with the repercussions of this situation such as attend restraining order hearings, arraignment, appointments with victim services, Department of Children and Family, mandated counseling and therapy and now a jury trial, Olga needs as much help and support as possible from her brothers and sisters during this incredibly difficult and sensitive time.

I ask that if you can donate anything for Olga and her children, to please do so. Any donations will go straight to paying off her past due bills including utilities and housing expenses, daycare cost for her to attend work in addition to cover the continued amount of unpaid time off that will be necessary to attend trial.

If you know Olga, you know that she has taken up collections for her fellow brothers and sisters in the union and would never hesitate to help someone in need therefore thank you for taking the time to read and share this. Life truly is bigger than all of us. But as scary as it can be, together we sure can make it even more beautiful!

Sincerely,

Jennie Campos
