A man’s life isn’t measured by the length of time on Earth but it’s measured by the legacy he leaves behind. As we prepare to celebrate the life of Carl Lewis Sims, our family wants to thank all of those who have shown so much compassion and love to us during what seems to be one of the most painful moments of our lives. No one is ever really prepared to say goodbye. We certainly are not ready for this goodbye. Carl touched the lives of so many people. He was an amazing son, brother, cousin, athlete, friend, teammate, and an overall great MAN. That passion and fire that we all got to witness on that football field is the same passion and fire he had for all the people he loved. Carl had a sincere heart and his love for us is one thing we will never forget. As we prepare to lay him to rest, we stand together as a family and we choose to live for Carl. His strong legacy will remain strong through us. His time with us was cut short here on Earth but we are grateful that his spirit will stay with us forever. Again, we thank you for all of your support. Your help will go toward final arrangements for Carl’s services. This process seems unbearable but the love from all of you makes this a little easier to bear through. Carl, we all love you and thank you for an amazing 32 years. Rest easy knowing we will keep you alive forever.
