Help My Mom Fight Cancer

Hi, my name is Joshua Huh, and I am creating this GoFundMe for my mom who was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic bladder cancer in November of 2020.

My mom, In Kyong Huh, is a kind, selfless woman who has provided for my family for all of her life. To anyone who knows her, she is a kind, God-loving woman who always puts others before herself. She had been working endlessly as the breadwinner of our home, helping to ease the financial burden of college for my sister and I, and paying our house bills up until she was diagnosed.

For a long time, she experienced pain nearly every day but relentlessly continued to work in order to provide for our family. Despite many trips to different physicians for months, we were unable to get a solid diagnosis for her pain. One day in early November, she had to leave in the middle of work due to this pain, and my sister immediately brought her to the emergency room as I drove home from school to meet her there. After hours of waiting and many scans and tests, we were informed by the doctors that she had bladder cancer which had already spread to her pelvis, lymph nodes, and to her spine. Only a few days after, she was no longer able to walk due to the cancer spreading to her bones and causing her spine to fracture.

We were told that the chances of her walking again were little to none. However, we are happy to say that in the last 11 months by her side, we have been able to watch her regain her ability to walk and seen medical progression and recovery that even her doctors were shocked to see. Since her diagnosis, my family has been doing everything that we can to provide for our mother the way that she has for us. Unfortunately, as of recently, her therapy regimen has no longer been effective and the cancer has begun to spread again.

As time goes by and the medical expenses and bills start to pile high, we have found it very difficult to keep up with payments. We have been working hard to take care of matters on our own since her diagnosis, but it has become increasingly overwhelming. For this reason, to my loving friends, family, and community, I would like to reach out during this time for help in this situation that none of us had anticipated.
