Help us save Suki

Hi everyone,
We’re reaching out during an incredibly difficult time to ask for your support for our dog, Suki, either here or directly on Venmo through @caitybransby.
Suki is more than just a pet, she’s a part of our family and our everything. We rescued her 4 years ago off of the street in central California when she was 6 months old and she quickly became the light of our lives. A few weeks ago, Suki started coughing, and what initially seemed like kennel cough turned into something far more serious. After multiple vet visits, tests, and now an extended stay in the ICU, Suki has been diagnosed with chylothorax, a rare and life threatening condition where fluid builds up in her chest, making it hard for her to breathe.
Right now, Suki is temporarily stable, but she’s undergoing extensive testing to figure out the exact cause of her condition and the best treatment plan. Tomorrow, she’ll have a CT scan to give us more answers, and surgery is expected to follow this week if the CT scan confirms that it’s the best option for her.
What we do know is that Suki’s medical care has already become incredibly expensive. Between emergency hospital visits, fluid drainage procedures, X-rays, bloodwork, and her current ICU stay, we’ve already spent thousands of dollars to keep her stable and give her a chance to survive this. Her treatment is expected to total more than $40,000 if surgery moves forward.
We’ve set our fundraising goal at $20,000 to help offset what we’ve already spent and prepare for what’s ahead. We’re pulling from every resource we have, but we simply can’t do this alone. Even if we don’t reach our goal, every contribution provides meaningful relief and helps lighten the load during this challenging time.
Suki is only 4 years old, and we want to do everything we can to give her the best chance at a long, happy life because she has done so much for us. We also know there’s still uncertainty, and tomorrow’s CT scan will guide the next steps, but no matter what happens, we’ve already faced a financial burden we can’t manage on our own.
We’re so grateful for any support, whether that’s a donation or simply sharing this page. Thank you for being part of Suki’s fight.
With love and gratitude,
Joey & Caity
