Ruth's Kidney Transplant Fund
Ruth Barnadyn-Cole & Randy Cole were happily married in October 2016.....still in there newlywed stage Ruth started feeling "not-so-well" . In March 2017 she was taken to the emergency room where her kidneys were only working at 10%. The doctors found that she had an allergic reaction to medication she had been taking & it had caused her kidneys to shut down. After spending a week in the hospital she had to begin dialysis 3 times a week & doctors were hopeful that this would get her kidneys working on their own again. Ruth continued to work her jobs when she could; in between dialysis, the cramps in her hands & legs, 7 surgeries for new catheters in her chest, the swelling in her face & the overall feeling of hopelessness, & the TEARS!!!(Yet she always has a smile for her GrandBabies!)As weeks & months went by her kidneys weren't improving & doctors decided that her only option was a kidney transplant.
Luckily Randy is a match for a donor! So the couple will be making several trips to U of M for more testing, though.(gas, hotel expense, wear on vehicle,) It will be a few more months before the surgery can be done and the doctors say there is lots to do. Randy will not be able to work for 6-8 weeks when the transplant happens. So in the next few months the couple has a lot to prepare for ....At this time Ruth is unable to work . Since she's only been working part time anyway things have been tight yet they've managed because of Ruth's strong fight & love to be there for her husband & family! Now they need help PLEASE! Ruth worked for Petoskey Schools Food Program, for a number of years, NCMC , & recently New Beginnings Thrift Shop. Randy & Ruth gave their hearts to each other about a year ago & now he's giving her life: his kidney.....Let's show them & her our love & support & help them on this journey ! Thank You & God Bless!!!!
