UPDATE FROM RUTHIE -

Cancer journey update:

I have been on a cancer medication for the past year and I have experienced numerous side effects. I now have several specialists at Stanford to deal with the side effects.

My most recent side effect was severe abdominal pain. I went to urgent care and then the emergency room. I had emergency surgery and spent the next 6 days in the hospital.

I need an additional surgery in April, and if

all goes well I will be able to return to work by summer.

My husband , Sean, is a full time caregiver for our adult son with severe autism and now he is also caring for me.

The unexpected medical procedures have caused additional expenses and loss of income.

Hi, my name is Kiley Piercy, and along with coworkers and good friends, we are hoping to raise some money for our sweet friend, Ruthie. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and will be traveling from Redding to Palo Alto multiple times in the next couple of months for treatment. We hope to relieve her and her family of some of the medical, travel, and lodging expenses coming their way. Any amount will help her through this difficult time and is very much appreciated!
