Ruthie & Martha Need Help

Donation protected
*UPDATE*
I just learned Martha's surgery is a base of 2500 and probably quite a bit more since it is not only a splenectomy but also tumor removal. I hope 3500 will cover it and will continue updating.
These two darling girls (renamed Ruthie (age 2, brown) and Martha (age 4, black)) were abandoned in a ditch in Colorado in 100-degree heat without food or water - when my dad found them they were extremely shaky, traumatized, confused and scared. With the high saturation of pandemic puppies being surrendered, these girls risked euthanasia - so I drove to Colorado as fast as I could to bring them into my care for the time being. Mile High GSP Rescue has been so helpful with helping with their initial vet appointments, and everyone who saw my story and donated was a game changer in getting them into my care and obtaining the necessary supplies for a safe and secure landing for the lil girls. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped so far. We were able to get them safely to Utah, get them crates, food, supplies for training and to aid their anxiety - this would not have been possible without those who helped. Unfortunately needs regarding the girls have increased and I just cannot do it alone.

Martha underwent her detailed ultrasound and the vets concluded she has a large calcified tumor against her spleen that so far is not causing her pain but may begin to, and is ultimately impacting her overall quality of living, life span, and needs to be removed in surgery. It appears both have had numerous litters of puppies (especially Martha) and both need to be spayed as soon as possible. Martha needs surgery to remove her spleen and the tumor.

The GSP Rescue has exhausted the funds available needed for original appointments, and while I can offer them love, comfort, confidence and stability - I most certainly cannot afford these costs on my own. Veterinary appointments and procedures alone, they also require supplements and specific medications for their needs. Both are extremely jittery and shaky seemingly from joint and muscle pain, and Martha is partially blind and needs help going up and down stairs, into the car, and cannot put weight on her back legs.

This situation breaks my heart more than I can describe. These girls are unbelievably loving, cuddly, eager to please and easy to train, full of life and desperate for love. They are innocent sweet little dogs, they've never hurt anyone nor displayed any reactive or aggressive behavior in any way. This is surprising given the trauma they have been through and my heart has fully melted for these babies. They deserve a beautiful second chance at life and it seems I've been chosen to advocate for them.

Any amount helps, and please share with anyone you know who loves animals the way I do. Thank you all so much, I will continue to update the status for these ladies.
