Ruth Pasefika Gomez

To know Ruth was to love her.  Her family was her purpose. They were the center of what grounded her - especially her children and grandchildren.  Anyone that knew her understood this about her. Spending time with them was what made her feel fullfilled.

Ruth had such a passion for life. A simple drive along the coast to view God's beauty was her favorite way to relax. She loved to dance and if you were in the room with her and there was a dance floor she would surely take you by the arm and make you her dance partner. If you ever met her parents, Mr. and Mrs Gomez, and witnessed them dancing you would certainly understand where she got that love from.

She dreampt of traveling to New York. She would boast that she was born there and rooted for their professional sports teams because of that connection. She was a proud Oceanside Pirate alumni that was friends with everyone. It was her love of people and community that was personified in her generosity. Most definitely a giver of her time, such a priceless gift. So many of you experienced her captivating  smile, her infectious laughter and her desire to live each day to its fullest and that is how we want you to remember her best. 

This Go Fund Me account is being created for those of you that have expressed the desire to help the family in some way. There have been  requests asking how you can offer your support in their time of loss. During a time with our community in quarantine we realize that all families face financial uncertainty. All gifts are generous when they come from your heart so no amount is too small. We thank  you for loving her and together we will all find a way to emerge from this sadness and follow her example on how to live each day with love and gratitude.
