Rusty’s Farewell: Easing the Burden
Donation protected
Unfortunately, our beloved Rusty had to be euthanized today.
Over the weekend, we noticed that he was struggling with walking. He was in a lot of pain. He could barely move his back legs. It just happened so quick. My husband took him in today and found out that he had some type of disease that causes the cartilage to put pressure on his spine and cause paralysis.
He had severe pain and no mobility. He would never have a life like he had before, and if we wanted to do surgery and run additional tests, it wouldn't have guaranteed it would have fixed it. Due to his age and his weight, it was suggested to take this route. It was a very difficult decision we had to make.
This was surely an unexpected expense for us and we really couldn't afford it at this time, but we wanted to bring his ashes home.
However, our friends and families are not obligated to help out, but we wanted to put it out there for anyone who wants to contribute towards the expense we had to put out just now. It wasn't a whole lot, but enough to make an impact financially. We're just asking to get anything to go towards knocking off the $800 vet bill.
We are truly going to miss our big boy. He was our gentle giant.
