On Thursday night, my baby and beloved companion of 14 years, Rusty, went into sudden respiratory distress after a week of other medical complications.

With no local vet offices open, I rushed him to State College’s animal hospital. The emergency team was able to stabilize him and provide treatments, and I had hope we might have more time together. Sadly, shortly after we left, Rusty went back into respiratory distress due to heart failure.

He was taken to his local vet, where he passed away peacefully. Rusty will be cremated and brought home to his final resting place.

The emergency visits and cremation costs are unfortunately quite steep. If you are a fellow cat lover and feel compelled to help, any donation, even if it's small, would be deeply appreciated.
