A lady called me late yesterday about a cat desperately needing help. He was lying on a busy road, his breathing was heavy and he looked in a bad way.

The cat who I have called Rusty, was known as a long term stray in the area.

I didn't have space for him myself, but could see he was very fragile and needed urgent help. I desperately called around the local charities, fortunately "The Society of Abandoned Animals" (in Sale, UK) kindly offered to take him into their care, even arranging an immediate vet appointment.

I dashed across town to collect Rusty and headed straight to the vet.

He has spent overnight at the vets, being monitored and assessed. He is there as I write this.

His condition is, touch and go.

* He is approx 12 years old.

* Has cat flu.

* His teeth are rotten and need removing.

* His mouth and paws are inflamed.

* His breathing is heavy.

I am dearly hoping to cover his vet bills with this campaign.

I don't know if he'll make it but knowing the money is there for immediate and medium term treatment will be one big hurdle cleared and may give him the chance he needs.

Rusty has been invisible on the streets of Manchester for years. Please consider donating to show he is now loved.
