Help for Rusty Hemingway's Memorial Service

Donation protected
Rusty Hemingway tragically passed away on 5/21/20. We are hoping to gather funds to assist with memorial services and aid surviving children. Please consider donating if Rusty was able to touch you or your family in the way he did ours.

The memorial service for Rusty will be on Saturday June 6th at 10 am at Miller and Miller Funeral home in Hugo, Oklahoma.

Due to an overwhelming number of calls and texts from Rusty's friends and family, we've been asked to set up this donation page for anyone wanting to donate to the Memorial expenses of Rusty Hemingway. All donations will be applied to the Memorial service and the remainder of donations will be setup in a fund for the surviving children: Robert Joe Hemingway - 21 years old and Dustie Nevaeh Hemingway - 13 years old.

On May 21st 2020, Rusty Hemingway was murdered by his own son, Gunnar Hemingway. We are still unaware of Gunnar's reason behind shooting his father and I don't think we will ever understand.

Rusty had recently turned his life over to the Lord and was looking forward to a new start. He had a peace about him and was looking forward to making up for all the lost time without his kids and a new beginning. His love was so deep, but he carried so many scars for the time missed with his children. Rusty had not been working on the pipelines due to his girlfriend being diagnosed with brain cancer. He was planning to go back to work after she passed. Only two days after she passed, Rusty's oldest son, Gunnar Hemingway, fatally shot him and then lit the family home on fire. When the police arrived at the burning home, they were able to retrieve Rusty's body before the home and family memories went up in smoke. The home that burned belonged to Rusty and his parents. Rusty's father, Robert Buck, was staying down the road with his son, David Ray Buck, after receiving knee surgery and was not harmed in the incident.

Rusty was the life of the party, the one who would be there when no one else was, and the one who would help you anytime you needed. He loved everyone and never judged people for their mistakes in life. He loved to make you laugh with his corky personality. We loved to hear his stories while working on the pipeline. He truly loved all his kids, friends, and pipeline family in his own way.

My heart is broken with the loss of my little brother, but knowing Rusty had turned his life over to our Lord recently gives me so much such comfort. Rusty is home in Heaven with his twin brother - Dusty Hemingway, Brody Mills - his son, Chet Janes - older brother, Mohanna Hemingway - older sister and Shirley Hemingway Buck - our mom.

We appreciate any donations you may be able to offer, and are eternally grateful for the overwhelming support from our family and friends during this time.
