Help me buy a safe home for my 65-year-old mother in Ukraine
My name is Andrii, and I am from the small town of Artsyz in southern Ukraine.
In late November 2022, during one of the missile attacks on civilian areas, a Russian missile struck next to my mother’s home.
The explosion caused devastating damage. The roof collapsed, the walls were severely cracked, and the house became structurally unsafe. The photos you see on this page are of her actual home after the explosion.
This was the home where she spent decades of her life. The home she built step by step through years of hard work.
She is now 65 years old.
The local authorities provided financial assistance of 200,000 UAH (about $5,000 USD), and I am grateful for that support. But this amount is not enough to rebuild or to provide her with a safe place to live.
For the past few years, we have done everything we could to manage the situation. But I cannot afford to buy her a new home on my own.
This is why I am asking for help.
The goal of this fundraiser is $10,000 USD. In our region, this is enough to purchase a small, modest house. This is not about comfort or luxury. It is about giving my mother something every person deserves — safety, stability, and dignity.
My mother is a simple person. She worked her whole life, raised her family, and never asked anyone for help.
It is not easy for me to ask for help. But I am doing this for her.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to giving her a safe home again.
If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean a lot.
Thank you for reading and for your kindness.
— Andrii
