Help Russell Trickey fight cancer
Donation protected
This is an appeal from the heart to anyone whose life has been touched by Russell Trickey.
In March of this year, my dad Russell received the devastating news that he has been diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer, which has metastasised to his pelvis and spine.
This news has been very hard to accept and process but my family has together determined to do whatever we can to support my dad and time is of the essence. While surgery is not an option, dad's medical team has recommended a promising treatment that offers a glimmer of hope, but the financial burden associated with this treatment is overwhelming.
We are not a wealthy family. Dad has spent his life working for the communities he's lived in, helping people both spiritually and practically. He has never acted out of a desire for personal financial gain but always in the interests of others. He has touched so many lives with his generosity, humour and helping hands - and now, out of dire necessity, I am asking you to help him, if you can possibly.
The initial costs for his care have already exceeded $10,000, and we are facing an additional $30,000 in expenses over the next few months alone. The funds raised by this page will be used to cover the costs of weekly IV infusions, oxygen therapy, and 33 different prescribed medications that are essential to sustaining his life and bringing about his hope for recovery. The treatment is intense and designed to reduce tumors as well as prevent the cancer from spreading further.
I understand that these are difficult times for all of you, and it's very difficult for me to ask, but on behalf of my family, please know that any contribution, no matter how small, would be a tremendous blessing. Your support would mean the world to us and hopefully help bring about a positive outcome for my dad.
Please know that your generosity will be met with our deepest gratitude.
Thank you for reading and caring.
