Russell needs some help from his friends

Friends, our boy Russell, who we adore to the moon and back and a million times again is not feeling his best.

The day we never wanted to come..

As you, fwends of spud are aware to some extent, Russ has been experiencing severe vomiting episodes over the last couple of weeks and gone through multiple blood tests, ultrasounds, CT scans and in depth surgery.

Initially fund fluid in tummy and a cyst with enlarged lymph nodes, took samples of lymph nodes with results coming back thinking they were non cancerous, but a reaction to whatever he was fighting. Surgeon had other thoughts…

Went through intensive surgery Friday 14th of feb and removed large part of ‘mass’ in smaller intestines and sent off to lab for comprehensive tests. His little tummy was very angry and they found a full blockage to smaller intestines and thickening to intestine walls. He had one of the best surgeons out there and came home rocking a bad ass scar.

Up until this, he had been his cheeky self.

Phone call: Adenocarcinoma.

After surgery he initially picked up but within days rapidly declined, over 300ml of fluids drained. In and out of emergency. More scans and no answers to what’s causing the rapid decline.

Started cancer treatment and I pushed for antibiotics.

Baby boy hasn't eaten in days (we know how much Chub loves his food) and is fading in front of my eyes with no clear answers. It’s hard to watch.

Russell is only 8 and so full of life. Cheekiest little boy who loves life. We are desperate and want to keep him happy with us on earth side for eternity ❤️

Russ is not ready to go, he very much wants to stay and keep hustling, 4am breakfast demands, scream his lungs out until he gets what he wants, be your emotional support when peeing, bite ankles, adventures and make friends with almost everyone.

The Doctors of his care team are at loss what’s happening.  We are now reaching out for further answers and practices.  

To us, he’s family and our best, most annoying, demanding little friend who has given us so many laughs and so much love. Russell brought a small community together and we made life long friends because of him and his antics.

His dad and I are hurting and we will do whatever we can for as long as Russell says so. We’re sugarcoating cos it’s all too hard.

We are doing anything in our power to give him a happy life, for as long as he chooses to stay. And we will love him for eternity and beyond and a million times again.
