Our celebration. The life of a man, taken too soon, celebrated as he requested.
Russell Elliott Matheney, 41, of Fort Lauderdale FL, has been a local hero, advocate, and entertainer for more than 23 years. He was a friend, brother, part-time psychiatrist, and LOVED. His passing has left a whole in every heart he touched.
On Tuesday, July 25th, we will have a day long celebration of love, story telling, crying, yelling, ice-throwing and attitude slinging, just as he wanted!
Russell requested that his remains be placed with his grandmother, and that his Florida and World-Wide family throw the biggest party we could for him.
A small lunch is planned for 12 noon at Smarty Pants Bar, before a church Memorial at United Church of Christ.
We will all meet at Scandals Saloon at 4 p.m. to fulfill his request TO THE FULLEST!!
We will be ending the night with a toast at 10 p.m. at Ramrod Fort Lauderdale.
The family has asked to donate here in lew of flowers or cards, for help with both expenses and days events.
To those who have sent their love and support to our family at this difficult time, Bless You & Thank You!
