Russell a Homeless Man and his sweet Dog

My Name is Wendy and I've been trying to help this homeless man and his dog alittle weekly as i can as I pass him to get my coffee. I have learned is name is Russell and he is their daily with his sweet protective dog. My heart has a tough time driving past him.
I am a single mom who lost my healthcare job 10 months ago due to COVID cutbacks and the company choosing to employ people lower on the pay scale and getting rid of the people that had worked 16+ years for them, like myself. I have been putting myself out there and hopefully something will happen soon for me. However, my thought was originally to put a backpack or something together for this man/Russell and his dog. I originally posted this on local next door a week ago and community outreach has been helping with a back pack and more was incredible. the amount of heart was overwhelming for me. However what Russell and his dog need is shelter nightly. He has been able to stay at th Motel 6 down the street until Feb 14 due to some gracious people who read my post. Russell and his Dog are also out there due to COVID and loss of his job. He is a very sweet man who is down on is luck and needs help and i'm just trying to bring attention to him and get some wonderful people to help him and his dog. If you are in Portland OR and driving south bound he is at the Ellington exit near Wilsonville. He is near the Human Bean coffee and Carls JR. Stop and talk with him. Today i will be dropping by a back pack gathered for him however trying to gather funds so he can have a rood over head and maybe become employed again. i understand there are lots of unfortunate homeless persons out there and i'm trying to help Russell and homeless man and his sweet dog. If you can help my heart goes out to you and thank you so much. Just trying to do my best at helping a huge problem everywhere. Be Safe.
