Russ Rides Again

Thanks for taking the time to stop by Russ's GofundMe!
Slightly over a year ago, Russ came into the local brewery where I occasionally tend bar. Russ and I bonded very quickly as we both share a passion for the history, love, and lifestyle surrounding motorcycle culture.

As time went on, our conversations grew deeper. I learned a lot more about his life and his hardships, from losing his son at a young age, recently losing his wife Bobbie to cancer, and personally battling cancer his whole life.

Russ, at age 73, recently went to the doctor to get a routine checkup and received some unfortunate news, his cancer has come back and has spread to more places than one. After a lifetime of dealing with the terrible consequences of cancer treatments, Russ has decided to forego any more medical intervention. This is heartbreaking, but I personally know how hard this can be. Treatments can be hard on anyone, most of you know this, as cancer is such a terrible illness.
In the past, these treatments left him partially immobile, and his biggest fear is that he will never be able to ride his motorcycle again. Just this past year, Russ had to say goodbye to his dear Bobbie, his soul mate, his everything. The emotional, and financial toll from Bobbie's illness has left Russ in a very difficult spot.

Most of you might not know Russ, but if you do, you know he is one of the most genuine and loving people you have met. On any given day, you'll see Russ walking down the streets of his small town, waving and grinning at the locals, neighbors, and strangers alike. His day-to-day consists of popping in for a coffee here, or a beer there, maybe even a cannoli someplace else.
Everyone in our community knows Russ, and it's safe to say that everyone loves him. However, few know of his struggles, he's had a handful of them, and that can be very hard to read behind his constant smiles and endless laugh's.
Russ's dream is to be back on the two wheels where these old memories still live. To re-visit the life he once had, with his beautiful wife Bobbie on back and the open road ahead of him, and my goal is to help him achieve it. Please help me send Russ off on a new adventure, not with any old bike, but with the bike that holds the most precious memories and moments of his life.
Where is the money going?
I recently teamed up with Woodstock Harley-Davidson and I am trying to get his 1990 Heritage Softail, that has been sitting for countless years, repaired and ready by Spring 2021.
This fundraiser will contribute to his motorcycle repairs, gas for the endless trips he wishes to take, and a god damn burger or two on the way.
