Russ Acuff

I am organizing this fundraiser to relieve some of the financial stress from Taylor and Gavin during this difficult time as they deal with the loss of their dad, Russ Acuff. If you have lived in Powell for any length of time you likely knew Russ, his parents or his children. If you knew Russ, you also knew that his babies were his world. Taylor just celebrated her 21st birthday in July, and Gavin turned 18 in January.

He would go out of his way to help those he loved. He was the life of any party. He “thought” he was a race car driver, which many of us have been passengers at some point and can verify this. Russ loved the Powell community. He played football at PHS and enjoyed watching Gavin follow in his footsteps. He proudly served our country in the military making huge sacrifices when deployed and away from his kids. It is safe to say if you knew Russ, you loved him.

Russ would not want the kids worrying and stressing about finances at a difficult time like this. I think we could all come together and show these kids how special their dad was to all of us. Taylor and Gavin have a lot on their mind right now and do not need to be rushing and making any major decisions, but for the meantime they would like to keep their house. In addition to funeral expenses, they will need to start paying for all household expenses, home owners insurance, their cell phones and car insurance etc. The kids would greatly appreciate any and all help as well as your prayers at this time. Please continue to lift Russ’s children, parents, family, and friends up in prayer! Let’s not forget about them next week.
