Rush has been a bundle of energy from before birth, always beating to his own drum and keeping us on our toes. This kid is a fighter and has been his whole life. Rush had to have a hypospadia surgery on his penis at 6 months, was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease ( kids heart disease) at 18 months and almost died. At 3 years of age, we started doing some testing through the school district and noticed some speech and language issues. This past September, Rush was diagnosed with high functioning Autism. We have started putting the pieces of the puzzle together now, but most importantly have been changing the medical professionals that interact with our son. We met Dr. Warner about a month ago and his kind, gentle and patient staff were able to make Rush comfortable enough to get a quick look at his mouth. Rush has refused for almost 2 years to get a proper teeth cleaning and X-rays. Children with autism have a lot of sensory issues surrounding brushing of their teeth and hair. It was decided that because of the phobias that come with his Autism about doctors and dentists, he should undergo IV sedation to deal with cavities, X-rays and a way overdue cleaning. Long story short, this has to happen quickly and the anesthesiologist receives almost $1000 paid in full on the date of services. The low estimate for the other services are $600-$1000 out of pocket. This procedure is scheduled for December 19th and has us scrambling to make sure Rush gets the care he needs and doesn't experience further pain and discomfort. Four moves in a year and some pretty tough medical times for our family have led us to reach out and ask you to have a ❤️ for Rush!! Thank you in advance for any assistance and Merry Christmas!!
