Running for Gavin

A close high school friend of mine was the victim of a fatal hit and run accident in Fresno, California on the morning of September 26. His name was Gavin Gladding and he leaves behind his wife Susan and two children; Carter age ten and Isla age eight. Gavin was training for a marathon the morning of the accident.
In Gavin’s honor, I have decided to run this marathon for him and in doing so hope to raise money for his young family. When I say that Gavin was the last person on earth this should have happened to, I truly mean it. If you knew him, you know what I’m talking about. From his participation in the Peace Corps to his commitment to his students to just being the type of friend you could always count on; there are really no words to express how much he will be missed.
So please, if you can spare even a dollar – I humbly ask you to contribute to this cause. And while I didn’t plan on running this marathon until very recently, I surely am not going to be breaking any records….but Gavin, I do promise you….I will finish!
