After running my first marathon in 2025, I'm doing my first international race this year in Barcelona, Spain!
On March 15th 2026, I will be running 42.195 km around the streets of Barcelona.
10 days later, on March 25th, I will also be completing my 30th lap around the sun! Woop, hello new decade.
To celebrate both this achievement and a milestone birthday, I'm raising money for an impactful charity close to my heart - well, 2. If you know me, you know I am indecisive & in this instance, its for a good cause.
I will be splitting the funds 50/50 to Plan International & Mercy Ships. Two causes providing invaluable resources and relief to disadvantaged communities who need it the most.
Friends, if you were planning on getting me a gift this year.. please please donate instead.
I will aim to share updates on my running progress and of course, the final outcome in Spain.
It is my first time setting up a fundraiser of this nature & I am endlessly appreciative of anyone able to support this venture ❤️
Mercy Ships - 2 out of 3 people worldwide lack access to safe affordable and timely surgery. As a result, 17 million people die every year from conditions requiring surgery.
Mercy Ships operates the two largest hospital ships in the world to deliver accessible, free surgery and vital medical care for those in unjust poverty and urgent need. These 'floating hospitals' are staffed entirely by volunteers, who give their expertise for free to help treat dental and eye problems, cleft lips and palates, tumours, club feet, childbirth injuries, burns and various other conditions. They also train local professionals and work in countries they visit to ensure they leave a lasting legacy of improved medical sustainability.
Plan International is a global children’s charity striving for an equal world.
Working together with children and communities across more than 80 countries, we are building a different future. One where every child receives an education and has their voice heard. One where all girls are free from violence, in control of their own body and know their rights.
To get there, we deliver long-term development programmes and respond to emergencies. We campaign with young people on issues that matter to them and call on governments to do more to protect children’s rights. That means working closely with children, young people and their families and communities. They are experts in their own lives. They help us understand the challenges to change. And they work with us to find ways to do so.
We also know that girls often face the greatest disadvantage because of their age and gender. That’s why ensuring girls get equal chances is central to all our work. We listen to and work with girls to learn how we can support them.
All money fundraised will be designated to the ‘wherever the needs are greatest’ option.
