Growing up in Boston, Marathon Monday was my favorite day of the year. Every spring, I'd stand on the sidelines cheering for the people going by, imagining myself running with them. It's a dream come true to run the New York City Marathon with the Ulman Foundation this November.
Ulman exists to address the unique challenges faced by young adults with cancer. The organization meets patients where they are: with a supportive community that includes peer advisors who've been through it themselves, and housing that makes life-saving treatment accessible.
This year, someone I love was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 26 years old. I'm running and raising money for Ulman with her in mind. I'm also running for my grandmother Elaine, whom I'm named after, and who died of cancer before I could ever meet her. And I'm running because I carry the BRCA2 gene mutation, which puts my own cancer risk at above 50%.
Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting Ulman's important work. Please donate here and help me reach my goal!
