Seeing what’s happening in this country breaks my heart. As an immigrant, I’ve watched the sacrifices my parents and family made to build a better life, and it hurts to see the American Dream feel out of reach for so many who work just as hard. This January, I’m running the Miami Marathon not just to push myself physically, but in memory of my grandfather, who passed away earlier this year and embodied that dream; an immigrant who built a foundation for our family through grit and hard work. I also run for my parents, who sacrificed every day and who taught me resilience, courage, and what it truly means to chase opportunity. And I run to stand with immigrant families, youth, and children who are too afraid to speak out or are forced to live in the shadows.
Your contribution helps: support immigrant families directly through United We Dream’s National UndocuFund, which provides emergency financial assistance to undocumented people in crisis. It will also help train and empower immigrant youth leaders to advocate for their communities and fight for meaningful policy change. Funds will provide resources and protection, including “Know Your Rights” materials, deportation defense support, and guidance for families navigating the immigration system. Your generosity will fuel national campaigns that push for dignity, safety, and opportunity for immigrant families who often feel invisible or ignored.
If you believe in hope, community, and a future where everyone gets a fair chance, I’d be grateful for your support. Thank you for helping me run for something bigger than myself.
