Running the Marathon for the Helping Harry Trust
Donation protected
BREAKING NEWS: I'm delighted to announce that, thanks to so many kind donations, we've been able to exceed the fundraising target! Thank you so much to everybody who has donated on here and to the cash donations I've received (including recent ones from Roger Shute, Phil Hancock (on behalf of Terry and Mary) and Sonny Shaunak. I've now transferred these on here. It's getting very close to race day!
I'm running the 2021 London Marathon in October to raise money for two fantastic causes: The Helping Harry Trust and Harry's Pals.
The Helping Harry Trust raises money to fund the treatment of a severely disabled little boy called Harry to ensure he has the best life possible.
Harry's mum Hayley has also set up Harry's Pals to provide emotional and practical support to other parents who have severely ill or disabled children.
During the last 15 months carers have been under increased pressure and stress due to the ongoing challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic. That's why initiatives like Harry's Pals, which provides such great support, are more important than ever.
More about Harry
Harry has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy and many other complex needs. He can’t coordinate his movements to reach for a toy, hold his head up, or eat or drink without the aid of a tube fed directly into his stomach. Despite all of this, Harry is a really happy and smiley little boy who loves cuddles, music and tickles.

About me
Although I've been a keen runner for many years, this will be my first ever marathon. I've never run competitively but during the pandemic I've been plodding the streets more often and gradually running longer distances. My training for the London Marathon is going pretty well but I still have a lot of hard work ahead in the coming months.

I'm extremely proud to be running the marathon on behalf of these two amazing causes and really hope I can do them justice by completing the race and - most importantly - raising much needed funds to support the fantastic work they do.
I'd be extremely grateful for any donations as every penny will make a massive difference to Harry, his family and the other children and families who are supported through Harry's Pals.
