Running the London Marathon to Get Kids Going
Donation protected
Following interruptions brought upon by life changes, injury, and a small global pandemic, I am returning to my pursuit of running 26.2 miles, ostensibly for fun.
I will be running the 2023 London Marathon in support of Get Kids Going - a wonderful charity that provides resources, support, and equipment to allow children with disabilities to participate in sports.
I took to distance running when I was 14 because, for me, it did not require any specialized skill, equipment, or very much physical talent. Also because my Mom wouldn’t let me play football because “they will break you in half.”
But for kids with disabilities, it’s not so simple. Running, and just about all athletics require a specialized sports wheelchair which can cost more than $5000. I jumped at the opportunity to fundraise on their behalf, to get back into the sport I love and participate in one the world’s most prestigious races.
I appreciate any help you can give me to reach my fundraising goal.
